The Geneva School of Diplomacy & International Relations participated in the CyberSecurity 9/12 Challenge held at the Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GCSP) in collaboration with the Atlantic Council. We are proud to announce that Team STUXNET (consisting of Pranay Ahluwalia, Hassan Abul-Enein, Hussein Abul Enein and advised by Ambassador Dr. Sameh Aboul-Enein) achieved the 3rd place, surpassing 25 internationally renowned Universities such as the Vienna Diplomatic Academy, University of Lausanne, London School Of Economics, Military Academies from the United States, Switzerland, Finland, Poland and Sweden, University of Geneva and IHED.

The Cyber 9/12 Student Challenge is the "must-attend" student competition in international cyber security policy. The 2nd European edition of the Challenge took place on Thursday, 7 and Friday, 8 April at the GCSP in Geneva. Co-organised by the GCSP and the Atlantic Council, it gathered 200 students, coaches, judges, sponsors and observers around a scenario simulating a major cyber attack taking place in Europe.

The Cyber 9/12 Student Challenge is designed to provide students across academic disciplines with a deeper understanding of the policy challenges associated with cyber security crises and conflicts at national and European levels. It presents students with a unique opportunity to interact with expert mentors and high-level cyber professionals, while developing valuable skills in policy analysis and presentation. The Challenge has already engaged over 400 students from universities in the United States, United Kingdom, France, Poland, Switzerland, Hungary, Finland, and Estonia.

Previous judges and speakers in the European competition include prominent cybersecurity experts such as President of Estonia, Toomas Hendrik Ilves; Ambassador Sorin Ducaru, NATO Assistant Secretary General for Emerging Security Challenges; Heli Tiirmaa-Klaar, Head of Cyber Policy Coordination at European External Action Service; and many others.
